The Raymond James Gasparilla Festival of the Arts 51st event will be held this weekend in a virtual format on March 6th and 7th, 2021. Festival organizers created a complete program on the interactive online tool, Eventeny. This platform allows participants to view a live stream of entertainment throughout the weekend and let juried artists showcase and sell their work to the public via online booths. Virtual components such as children’s activities, art demonstrations, and live musical performances are scheduled. The virtual Festival will be available for viewing until March 21st, 2021.
Among the activities that you can enjoy during the Virtual Festival are:
-
Check out the virtual marketplace. Over 200 juried artists are featured in individual artist showrooms. Each artist added video and photo content for visitors to learn more about their work. All artwork in the gallery lists a price for purchase, dimensions, shipping information, and more. Buyers can add artwork to their cart similar to traditional online shopping.
-
Visit the live events schedule to see hourly artist demonstrations with public Q&A, families and children’s activities, and live music performances from local and regional acts. All events are streamed live, but the recordings will be available to watch two hours after their initially scheduled time if you miss one.
-
Watch the Showcase emceed by ABC Action News Denis Phillips at 6 pm EST to be the first to hear the announcement of the award winners of the 51st Annual Raymond James Gasparilla Festival of the Arts Virtual Festival – $80,000 in cash prizes. The evening will include a virtual bartender, awards presentation, remarks by the festival juror, and a dance performance.
-
Support up-and-coming artists at the virtual Emerging Artist Program, Local Artist Spotlight, and Scholastic Showcase. These programs provide exposure and support for new artists, local artists, and students in the Tampa Bay area. Many of the artwork pieces are available for purchase online.
-
Get the whole family involved with various children-friendly activities. The virtual Festival features live children’s activities during the weekend and the return of the popular Art Collectors in Training program. Children can purchase donated pieces of art from the juried artists to start their collections early in life. Pick-up for the purchased Art Collectors in Training pieces will be from 10 am – 3 pm on Saturday, March 6th, and Sunday, March 7th at the River Center, located at Julian B. Lane Park.
