Growing up between Mexico City and Puerto Rico, I have been shaped by the values, traditions, and histories of both cultures. This bicultural identity is central to my artistic practice, as I seek to celebrate and explore the intersections of my heritage. My work often reflects themes of identity, social justice, and cultural awareness, using art as a medium for both self-expression and advocacy.
I am particularly drawn to experimenting with unconventional materials, a practice that allows me to push the boundaries of traditional art forms and create unique, interesting, and tactile experiences. I believe that art has the power to spark dialogue on critical societal issues, as seen in my piece Ni Una Menos, which addresses the ongoing femicide crisis in Mexico. Similarly, my self-portrait, constructed entirely from paint swatches, showcases my commitment to innovation and material exploration. My piece Nature’s Path merges traditional drawing with experimental media, using road maps as a symbolic backdrop to explore the coexistence of nature and human development.
As I continue my studies, I aim to refine my technical skills and expand my artistic knowledge to more effectively communicate my vision. Through further exploration of materials and concepts, I hope to create work that not only reflects my personal journey but also resonates with a wider audience.
