My current focus as a figure painter is to explore the darker side of femininity, sensuality, and the untamed nature of humans that comes out when experiencing intense feelings of passion and lust. My work aims to challenge the glorified stereotypical norms of the “light feminine” – the delicate, gentle, and soft portrayal of femininity – showing how there is beauty within the chaotic and that sex, sensuality, and desire are aspects of our lives that women shouldn’t shy away from but instead gain power from. After I finish my BFA, I plan to get my masters in painting; the master’s program I currently have in mind is the New York Academy of Art. My main goal after getting my master’s degree would be to become a college professor in painting while still exhibiting my works in galleries and museums.
