While the Gasparilla Festival of the Arts doesn’t start until next March, plans are already underway for the upcoming event.
In mid-May, members of the GFA Festival Committee members and organization leadership met at the Baisden Gallery in Tampa to fulfill a long-time tradition of the “Passing of the Chairs.” GFA 54 Co-Chairs Cindy Banua and Jenn Versaggi passed their respective chairs along to Cindy German and Rebecca Lane. Adam Nichols, a 54th Annual Co-chair, will return as a Co-chair for the 55th Annual Raymond James Festival of the Arts.
Meet the Co-Chairs:
GFA 55th Festival Co-Chair Rebecca Lane. Rebekah is a former emerging artist in GFA, certified in color science and psychology, and a full-time working artist. She brings her wide knowledge of workings in the creative field with her type-A organizational talents to being Co-Chair. We look forward to seeing how Rebekah enhances the festival in 2025.
GFA 55th Festival Co-Chair Adam Nichols. Adam Nichols has been a Florida resident for 18 years. Adam joined GFA as a Festival volunteer seven years ago and decided to join the concessions committee six years ago. He took over the committee four years ago with his best friend Catherine and has enjoyed being part of the leadership team.
GFA 55th Festival Co-Chair Cindy German. Cindy has been a volunteer for the Gasparilla Festival of the Arts for three years, serving as Chair of the Young Artist Exposition for the past two. With her extensive background in art history and museum collections management, combined with her experience teaching art history and art to school-aged children, she brings a rich array of knowledge and excellent interpersonal skills to her role as Co-Chair for the 2025 Gasparilla Festival of the Arts.
The Festival Co-Chairs are responsible for managing and executing tasks with over 18 different committees and nearly 400 volunteers who make the Festival possible.
In September, the Co-Chairs held their first monthly Festival Committee meeting of the year. If you are interested in volunteering for GFA at the committee level, please visit our website for details and to apply online.
GFA 55 will be held at Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park in downtown Tampa on March 2 and 3, 2024.
