2020 Interactive Experiences

Our relocation to Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park will feature a variety of fun, interactive experiences including:

Carmada: Carmada returns to GFA for its eighth year Art Car Extravaganza during Gasparilla Festival of the Arts 2020. See new art cars on display and watch as vehicles are transformed live by local artists! Enjoy hands-on creative activities for all ages while our DJs spin throughout the afternoon. What’s an art car? It’s any standard vehicle modified into mobile artwork through application of paint, sculptural embellishment, and other techniques. Visitors will be encouraged to vote on their favorite art car, with prizes going to the artists. Don’t miss this free, fun, family-friendly celebration of art on wheels!   Visit CARMADA on facebook.

DMG Mobile Glass Blowing Unit: Duncan McClellan will bring his “glass art” experience, demonstrating the incredible glassblowing process in front of your very eyes.

Echo Quilt: Straddling the line between large-scale public art and traditional infrastructure, Echo Quilt will engage participants as an interactive sculpture with capabilities both for recording or listening to community driven stories.

AIA Interactive Experience: An interactive structural element created by the AIA (American Institute of Architects) and affiliated organizations.

Artistic Entertainment: Enjoy artistically themed entertainment and performances, including dance, puppets, stilt walkers, music, impersonators, visual artists, and more!

NOMADstudio: The NOMADstudio Art Bus invites visitors to add to their giant mobile mural.

Carmada, the NOMADstudio Art Bus, and other programming is made possible in part with the support of the Arts Council of Hillsborough County and the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners.
